Frans Putros Hit with Extra Ban as Persib Coach Chooses Silence
Persib Bandung defender Frans Putros has been handed an additional suspension by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee following his reckless challenge during the match against Arema. The Iraqi-born player was found guilty of a serious foul that resulted in a direct red card after tackling Paulinho from behind. In its ruling on September 25, 2025, the committee imposed a two-match extension to his suspension along with a fine of 10 million rupiah, leaving Persib without one of their key defensive figures.

The additional punishment has left the team short-handed ahead of upcoming fixtures, but head coach Bojan Hodak declined to comment on the matter. The Croatian tactician preferred to remain silent, reportedly to avoid any potential salary deduction for making critical remarks toward official decisions. His reserved stance reflects a cautious approach amid the sensitive disciplinary situation surrounding the club.

In addition to Putros’s punishment, Persib Bandung also received a separate fine of 25 million rupiah for the presence of visiting supporters during the same match. The sanction stemmed from a breach of the ongoing regulation prohibiting away fans from attending stadiums, a policy enforced after the Kanjuruhan tragedy in 2022 to ensure safety and order during domestic games.

These consecutive sanctions add pressure to Persib’s ongoing Super League campaign, testing the team’s discipline and resilience both on and off the pitch. With their main full-back sidelined and the club under closer scrutiny, Persib faces a challenging period as they work to maintain momentum and compliance with league regulations.
