Super League Clubs Facing Hefty Fines: Persik Kediri Leads the List

The PSSI Disciplinary Committee has concluded its sixth-week hearings, revealing a significant number of fines and sanctions imposed on Super League clubs. Among all teams, Persik Kediri has accumulated the highest fines, totaling approximately IDR 225 million by week six. Meanwhile, a few clubs have managed to avoid any financial penalties, keeping their budgets intact. Overall, PSSI has collected fines amounting to IDR 1.125 billion from Super League teams alone.
Several clubs have faced repeated fines since the start of the season, with PSM Makassar, Madura United, and Persijap Jepara among the top sanctioned teams. These penalties are often linked to player misconduct, disputes with referees, or violations involving fan behavior during matches. Individual players have also been fined, particularly when receiving red cards or showing unsportsmanlike conduct, such as refusing to shake hands before matches.
Fan attendance at away games has become a recurring reason for fines, though enforcement has been inconsistent. For instance, Bobotoh supporters attending the Arema FC vs. Persib Bandung match led to both clubs being fined IDR 25 million. Yet, some previous instances, such as supporters of Persijap Jepara at a Solo stadium match, did not result in penalties, highlighting ongoing inconsistencies in applying these rules.
The disciplinary measures reflect PSSI’s stricter approach toward regulating both on-field and off-field conduct. Player suspensions, club fines, and sanctions on fan behavior aim to ensure fair play and stadium safety. However, controversies persist, particularly regarding the uneven application of fines for supporters, raising debates about fairness and transparency in league regulations.
